THE JONDAL STORY
In 2022, I was
having lunch at Jondal, one of my favorite places in Ibiza, the owner, asked me
a simple question:
"Do you have a
hand soap?"
I laughed and
replied:
"No. But do
you need one?"
That conversation
marked the beginning of what would later become the AMATRIUS Natural Cosmetics
Collection.
At the time, I
wasn't thinking about creating a hand soap. I was thinking about how a product
should feel. A lunch at Jondal has always been a recharging experience for me,
meeting all my friends, the sea, the amazing food, the break that I allowed
myself to simply enjoy life. I wanted to capture exactly that feeling.
Together with our
laboratory in Spain, we developed a natural hand soap infused with our Recharge
Me scent. What started as a single product for Jondal quickly evolved into
something much bigger.
I realized that the
same philosophy could be applied to an entire collection of natural amenities.
Every summer, thousands of guests stay in beautiful villas across Ibiza, all
looking for thoughtful details that elevate their experience. Why should everyday
essentials not be part of that experience?
This idea became
the AMATRIUS Natural Cosmetics Collection: natural hand & body wash, hand
& body lotion, shampoo and conditioner, all produced in Spain and designed
to transform everyday routines into meaningful wellbeing rituals. What started
with a single hand soap at Jondal soon evolved into a villa service, creating
beautifully curated bathroom experiences that turn private villas into
sanctuaries of recharge, restoration and conscious living.
For Jondal, we
created a special golden bottle, which we are now introducing as the Jondal
Edition.
For private homes
and villas, we developed a more compact version: the Ibiza Villa Edition.
Both collections
are refillable, because luxury should not come at the expense of the
environment.
There is one more
story we have to tell.
When we first
introduced the products at Jondal, the team suggested placing our fragrances in
the bathrooms as testers.
I immediately
replied:
"They will
disappear on the first day."
The answer was:
"Nothing gets
stolen at Jondal."
As it turned out,
they were almost right.
We did not place
the perfumes there.
But even the hand
soap became one of the most requested, in fact “taken” items at Jondal. Since
it was created exclusively for the restaurant, guests had no way of buying it.
